a name written
put on a piece of paper
held in my left hand
close to my heart
a prayer lifted
countless times
held for this hour
lifted to God
a name written
drawn on my heart
a pain known to You Lord
offered up to God
a prayer lifted
gifted to God
because God will answer
in God’s time alone.
