Standing in the breeze
under the cross
dying crocuses, glorious
in our backyard, the
grasses,
glorious in their fading
becoming translucent,
afire in the mid-day sun
Like rice paper blossoms
worn-thin, a parchment,
a film, becoming transparent
as if made of thin phyllo
dough
dying ever so gracefully
afire in their dying,
glorious
at the foot of your cross
