the vessel of our bodies
the lantern of our clay
shining the light of God
so long as we do not hide
the light
as long as we remember our
song
if we listen to God’s voice
still speaking to us
still calling us to witness
to shine Christ’s light
in the darkness
out in this world
we hold the Spirit
within our hearts
our broken clay
can hold God’s promise
our broken clay
we can hold light
Christ’s presence
we may be broken
but we can shine that light
the lantern of our clay
alive with the light of
Christ

a broken vessel can hold water
