a sense, a shiver,
hearing a whisper only
a murmur of a presence
not really wanting to hear
it all
the actual words of Jesus
speaking to me in the night
in whispers to hushed to
hear
in the darkness of this
space
only the light shining on
You
shining out into the world
I know You have a message
that’s why I don’t stop
I don’t sit down in the dark
lingering in your presence
afraid what you might say
I fear the call, the words
the charge upon my heart, my
life,
to keep writing, to submit,
ready in the unknown,
in the quiet, in the dark.
