a deep pool of water
a well of worship,
of peace only God can bring
falling into the arms of Silence
into God’s waiting presence
quiet, still, knowing
like a comfortable coat
I have forgotten to wear
out in the wind, the cold
but someone I should know
knowing they are there,
waiting
in the darkness, peace from
the day
from my impossible struggles
giving them more fully to
God.
befriending Silence, a place
silence a destination, sanctuary,
finding God there, Grace,
the presence of God
in the stillness, the
longing
to answer my prayer.
