Eyes I have seen countless times
speaking of God’s love;
Lifting the lame, the injured
wiping a child’s tears.
Standing there in the courts
denying my Savior’s name;
Cursing denials that I knew Him
warmed by the fire, the flames.
As the cock crows as He had said
a realization of His prophecy;
My Savior turned toward me
in the gravity of my pain.
What I had caused Him
my brother, my Lord;
Standing on trial for me
and yet I denied His name.
Looking into the eyes of Jesus
convicted of my sin;
Weeping bitterly in anguish
wishing I no longer lived.
