At the appointed time,
the time when God had ordained
Even the son was predestined
for the steps on the path
So at that appointed time
before the betrayal
the bread and the cup were shared
his words transforming the meal forevermore
the blood, the lamb, the bread
all now of the new covenant
by his sacrifice and saving

Excellent imagery. Sometimes the words just flow from the heart to the mind and then to the paper. Very well done. You have a real talent and I'm sure it comes from the Lord. For someone who only recently started writing poetry you have a wonderful understanding. God bless and keep it up!!
