Instantly

So much of our troubles
the defining term, instantly,
wanting it now, more, more, ever more
things, gadgets, ways of doing this or that
the religion of the new, the better
claiming our joy, sapping our energies
losing our focus on the important
the urgent, false gods that they are,
blinding us to the worthy,
the lasting, the divine
