Mindful

Ever must we be mindful
the consequence of our actions
the ripples spreading outward
washing on distant shores
What we consume matters
the depletion of the resources
the ash, the waters, washing upon the land
the air warmer, the seas rising
because we thought about the immediate
gratification for our own

The world waiting,
wondering what we will do
cherishing our planet
as we are supposed to do
the resources, the treasures
the joy of this earth
ours to be stewards over
not consumers, taking
leaving nothing in our wake
