The words of Deuteronomy
uttered with passion
overlaid on our times
a warning for this age
as surely as for that time

In this age of abundance
in times of toil and strife
turning to the Lord
away from the seduction of the world
returning back into relationship
following, trusting, abiding
in our loving God
