Hanging the Symbols

images, little symbols
of our faith, from the very beginning
hung reverently, upon the tree
amid the lights, saints, the angels
the light of Christ shining
his star, ever at its calling
Advent season come
smiles upon our face
the Christ child coming
the symbols of his entering
awaiting our savior’s return
