Empowered, given a charge
sent, into the world
the disciples on that night
receiving the holy word
The spirit of God
breathed upon each one
changing their beating hearts
filled with the savior’s love
Like a dove, the breath made real
feeling the change within them now
going to follow his call
Going though the savior has gone
to his heavenly throne
believing his message for all
his sacrifice of love
Living like those in the room
who first felt the spirit’s pull
doing our part in our time
until all have heard the savior’s word
Being the hands and feet of Christ
giving voice to the oppressed the poor
healing in his name
doing his work on earth
