the confusion of our spirits
competition for success
measured in our wealth
the things, the possessions
the trinkets and toys
So different, than living
together in community,
assets, things, held in common
for the overall good
This is how we started,
the church of Christ
a handful of disciples
walking with the master
a gathering in an upper room
waiting for his return
A grouping under
the flames of Pentecost
a community sharing everything
lives held, lived in common
something powerful we have lost
