No longer followers only
cloistered in the upper room
ready to act, to go, to do
to spread his loving word
The Spirit breathed upon them
by the risen Christ
sent into the world
to continue his holy work
To offer saving in his name
to give a helping hand
to offer hope to the poor
and love to our fellow man
Sent into the street
to the field and factory
to bear witness to the Christ
the love of God to bear
Our neighbors, no longer strangers,
part of the family
with us needing the love of Christ
saved, redeemed
able to see our father
to enter in,
to walk with God once more
by his grace alone
