My vision obscured
laughing in the moment
walking on my face
landing of the lens
my left eye blinded
for more than a moment
a mosquito hitching a ride
walking along with us
Through the legs of the mosquito
my vision obscured
walking along with Shanequa
through the tree farm
on we continued
out onto the road
the mosquito not moving
till she gave a big blow
Off it flew
on its translucent black wings
still low to the ground
in the wet air
down into the woods
the friend we met
on the road race
who would have thought
