Like a child at Christmas
eyes filled with wonder
perhaps shaking the box
a time or two
Opening the gift of grace
a gift beyond measure
paid by the sacrifice
of our risen savior
Wanting us to open
when he knocks
to let him enter in
to fill our empty cup
The living waters of Jesus
the lamb, our shepherd
showering us with goodness
peace even in the storms
God wanting to find us
lost sheep in the woods
far from our master
needing to come home
Oh that all would open
the gift of grace he offers
that all would turn from the world
and come into God’s embrace
