when we listen to the wind

All of the tomorrows
that we never experience
all of the moments of grace
that never will be
how much we miss
failing to love our neighbors
how many steps we do not walk
with our creator, our God

When we listen to the wind
sinking in the waters
when its roar keeps us
sitting in the boat
the enemy laughing
that the message is hidden
our light remaining covered
hidden from the world

Only in acting
stepping onto the surface
walking on the waves
taking bold steps
only then fulfilling
living out His commission
to go and make disciples
to the ends of the earth
