I Belong to Christ

Not to some elder
a saint gone before us
not to the disciples
who called to us by name

All of us worthy
only by the blood of Jesus
the lamb who died
climbing the rugged cross

I belong to Christ
not to some other
not to the fishermen
not to apostle Paul

All of us joined
through the blood of Jesus
none of go to the Father
save through the gate of the Christ
