More Salt

Thinking about dinner
sitting around the table
how often we grab,
ask for the salt
how much stronger
how more tender
the seasoning we desire
there in the salt

To be salt of the earth
a light to the world
grounded in tradition
following your word
aching for more
that the taste would be sweeter
God’s love revealed
to the ends of the earth
