An Open Book

Known by God
an open book to the Lord
revealed in every action
every thought of my soul
Wanting to be worthy
though knowing only his grace
able to bring me to the Lord
to save me from the grave
my place by my own actions
even the stirrings of my heart
condemning me
my fate in his hands
bringing me from the pit
raising me up on eagle’s wings
healing me from within
An open book I want to be
worthy of his grace
but knowing only his love
will save me from myself
