No Dirt on Our Feet

Maybe preparation
the cleansing Christ offered
the washing of the feet
something to remember

This came before
the bread and the cup
the sacrifice of Christ
after washing their feet

No dirt on our feet
preparing for service
washed with God’s love
sent into the world

Prepared with the waters
the living scripture
the grace of our Savior
washing over us still
