We yearn for closure
completing every task
making them all equal
though some made to last
We want to be done
to make the best of our time
somehow wanting control
harnessing the hands of the clock
Yet we aren’t focused
we run here and there
never truly mindful
of God’s hope, His prayer
That we would be faithful
trusting only in him
he has a plan for salvation
and a part we each should play
Our choice to be faithful
if we will answer his call
picking up our gifts, our clay
answering now, today
Going, doing what we are able
serving our God today
