the temporal things

The words to these people
the distant disciples
in the land of Aristotle
the pantheon of gods
hearing a message
in the letter from the apostle
written as a warning
changing their lives around
letting go of the temporal things
the things of this earth
turning forever, to the Messiah
the thing of heaven
living, eternal, redeeming all things
all of us together, called to follow
to obey Christ’s commands
to serve, to offer, to share his holy message
making disciples, all in his name
giving our witness, our light to the world
