Turning from the world

Each of us, a moment
turning from the world
for Christ too, a time for him
to begin his ministry
from the Jordan, the wilderness
his time of testing
readying him for the work
submitting to God
going into the world
to spread the word, himself
to share God with us
the Messiah, Emmanuel
all according to God’s plan
unfolding in his time
