We
shouldn’t be surprise
we
got what we wanted
our
actions, not our words
led
to this condition
Our
focus on shopping
on
that perfect gift
but
forgetting the manger
that
hope that it brings
We
are thankful on Thanksgiving
then
we forget our joy
running
to the mall
to
beat the next guy
We
are joyful for Christmas
for
the coming of Christ
but
we bury the Savior
under
glitter and lights
We
are lost in the season
wrapped
in consumption
forgetting
what is important
the
things that will last
Love
came down at Christmas
to
save us from sin
Christ
at the center
the
hope for all men
