How
did we get to this place,
Christmas
and shopping
the
birth of our holy Savior
and
the coming of Santa
The
pagan and the sacred
a
most unholy of unions
The
birth of the living Christ
and
the coming of the fat man
But
what can we do now
to
extricate the briars, the excess
the
wheat from the tares
while
the weeds are yet blooming
How
can we find our joy
in
this midst of such confusion
the
pearl of the sacred birth
and
the selling of His season
