Not one of the big ones, counted
the golden, the silver, not
even tin
But one of the special days,
we remember,
a date on the calendar,
written on our lives,
A lower case happy
anniversary
Reminding us, of the day in
your church,
Now three years and nine
months ago
When we repeated our vows,
those cried out on that
December morn’
in the open, Under a snowy
sky
Sharing words of our love,
covenantal, deep, abiding,
enduring
now Before our family, our
God, our church
Saying happy anniversary
this morning,
Sitting, stilled, for a
moment,
Sharing some toast at the
table
Amid the bustle of our day
A smile on your face in
reply
Stealing a bit of time,
precious,
Sharing time together
On one of our
lower case anniversary days
