Sacrificed on the altar,
the theology of progress
chasing after the newest
thing
Sabbath rest, trusting, our
faith;
sleep for the weary, peace
for His children
lost in the frenzy, the
urgency, self-imposed
the fast-paced life, business
alone
We must stop, let go
be as Mary, at the Master’s
feet
trust, believe, nothing to
do;
no urgent task
not human effort
greater than listening to God
Rest for God’s children
ours, a Commandment
Sabbath day, holy rest;
remembering who created
how He took time to savor
to enjoy the creation;
Rest we must take
in worship of God
