Gather the basin,
Pick up the towel,
become the Servant,
as the Master did so long
ago
washing the disciples’ feet
taking off His robe,
humbling Himself, the Lamb,
bowing low before them,
Cleaning the dust, the dirt
setting our example
of holy servanthood
of loving our neighbor
An example, of service
of knowing our place
if we are to be priests
brothers and sisters with
Christ
Not putting on heirs,
no better than Him
We are to pick up the towel
put it around our waist
We are to continue His
ministry
His work here on earth
to go as the Spirit leads us
out into the world
