Entering Lent
a forty-day season
walking in my ashes
I want to feel you
to transform my heart
deep within me
carrying with me
a reminder of my sin
To love as our Savior loved
in complete submission
in sacrifice to the Father’s will
completely giving
to our enemies, to our neighbors
forgiving the way God forgives
opening ourselves to love
remembering their sin no more
While somber, contemplative,
spending time in fasting and prayer
joy in my relationship
walking with You, Lord
My life a blessing
with Christ made brand new
healing me completely
Let me live in You
