Ephemeral
denizen of the dawn
Emblazoned
on the waking;
An
aerosol archaeopteryx
Captured
for a twinkling
On
the heavens, the dome.
Feathers
and ancient bones
Silhouetted
in the tracks of the sky;
There
only for a fleeting, a few seconds,
Like
footprints in the new-fallen snow
Darkening
blue where they had gone.
Rimmed
with yellow, orange, purples
And
their spectra, shades of color
Before
the blue, the canopy
Flying
still, forever
Across
the endless skies.
