The Book of Acts, the Acts
of the Apostles
valuable lessons for this
age, this time in our lives,
in these uncertain, troubled
times,
Maybe community can rise
again
out of the ashes of our
disjointed,
our unconnected lives.
All together at one table,
one meal
they lived, they worshipped,
they ate together
a single life in the lives
of the Apostles;
Out of their wealth they
gave,
out of their need they were
given,
the early believers on the Way.
Sharing all, around one
table,
to spread His message
to bring God’s love;
Out into the world
bringing their lives
together
in one community, for one
meal.
In meals shared, in
sacrament,
in community, fellowship
seeing Christ in our
neighbors;
We share in their legacy,
we share the table with them,
all of them, no charge.

changing the spelling from
“worshipped” to “worshiped”,
because Blogger and
Twitter said “worshipped” is a misspelling.
