Children’s message 05/03/2015
contemporaneous notes

Fifth Sunday of Easter
Children’s Message
-           mystery box – a mint life saver candy

“Grab for the life preserver”

-         What is in the box?
-         A LifeSaver

-         What is a life saver?
-         (almost on queue, the pager went off for the ambulance service)
-         THAT is a life saver being called.

-         When do you need a life saver?
o   When you are drowning
o   Not the candy but a real one.

-         life preservers
o   there if we need them
o   keeping boating safe in rough waters

-         Jesus is like a life saver
o   when we are sinking in sin
o   Jesus reaches down to us
o   pulls us back up

-         Jesus is our life preserver
o   when we stay close
o   He preservers our lives

-         Jesus is a life saver
o   but we have to accept His offer
o   the life preserver if we accept

-          Jesus won’t throw himself on you
o   We have to accept
o   then we are buoyed on the waters of the Holy Spirit

-         Reach out for our life saver

-         Grab the life preserver

-         Accept this gift that Jesus offers

Prayer – Thank you God for the life preserver, Jesus Christ.
