Are we the body of Christ

we claim our heritage, our kinship
we say we are Christians,
followers of Christ
we believe we are the body
all of us together
but are we truly the body of Christ
in our dealings, in our actions
with the others, the outcasts
those who are different
who may be damaged, broken
who come to the doors aching
hurting within them
do we offer them love
do we follow Christ’s example
all of us together as the body
as the living presence of Christ
