the meaning of family – v2

the meaning of family
not the dictionary but the calling of God
a place of belonging, safe
no matter what we say,
our choices, our struggle
Leaning on our sisters,
our brothers, our cousins
finding a safe place
within our storms
a sanctuary where we can be open
ourselves, unfiltered
with those who know us
but don’t judge us
a place of belonging
for our whole lives
