Even in this Small Thing

Responding in love
even in this small thing
water into wine
on the day of the wedding feast

Honoring her request, her prayer
to be generous to the people
looking on her face
changing water into wine

Christ revealed
even in this small thing
the disciples made aware
the nature of their master

An early foretaste
the story of his life
faithful, loving
exceeding in his grace
