Some out of a vision
a personal encounter
others in a voice
speaking from within
a friend, a stranger
offering a welcome
no matter the means
all of us called
into community by God
Each of us charged
commissioned as the disciples
to go out into the world
and spread his message of love
sometimes uncomfortable
outside our tradition
our experience alone
not giving much help
Leaning instead
on the spirit
God still living
within each of us
speaking the words
when we only have sighing
guiding us on
that we may do his work
Continuing on
the work of the saints before us
going out, to do the master’s work
telling the world,
the love of the father
that Christ came down
to give us all new birth
Turning our lives over
sheep and shepherds
witnesses, priests
called to proclaim the good news
going boldly, wherever we are called
giving authentic testimony
that all may hear
God’s arms are open,
he is always near
