As the Created

Spending time with the creator
as the created
with the shepherd
as sheep of his fold
with the potter
as clay of his hands
so I sit, stilling myself
in my sabbath rest

Finding moments
not just on the seventh day
to find my place
comfortable below him
made from the dust,
the stuff of the good earth
by his breath alone
I am given my birth
