God’s abiding presence
giving us comfort
peace in the tumult
waves crashing on shore
Only sensing him when we seek him
for we are forgetful
wandering astray ourselves
from his boundless love
Sometimes in hindsight
only then able
to see Christ’s footsteps
on the shore beside our own
Yet his abiding presence
our rock, our assurance
our redeemer beside us;
he was with us all along
