To fulfill the prophecy
all law and prophecy
Christ turning toward Jerusalem
walking the way of the cross
Going where he was called
to the City of David
to face the powerful
into the teeth of authority
Christ turned into
facing the winds of change
following the master’s plan
that he may rise above
Humbling himself empty
giving him greater life
as his life blood poured out
such an immeasurable gift
Rising to heaven
on the spirit of the dove
waiting for us there
when our work here is done

further thoughts about this meditation
and the poem “Into the Winds”,
written yesterday
-----------------------
Into the Winds
Turning purposely
in the headwinds
the storms of history
awaiting for him
Going to Jerusalem
even while knowing
the future it held
the end of his days
Turning anyway
resolute in his decision
choosing to sacrifice
obedient to God’s call
The saving of humanity
in the measured steps
the choices of Christ
all of his life
Staying true
following the master
the plan of his life
written in God’s book
Humbly turning
yet by his choosing
staying on the path
the lamb to rise
in victory
