The Import of His Message

The like we know
the control we believe
what we think we have
charting our own course

The import of His message
what the Christ meant for us
to change our lives completely
to walk in faith, in trust

Turning to Christ
to the way of the cross
forgetting our false ritual
focusing on the Christ

Offering hope to our neighbors
love even to strangers
giving up all we have
that keeps us from one another
that separates us from God
