He was fully human, close to us
yet fully divine, omniscient
knowing pain, a sense of loss
what was to come tomorrow
the nails that would pierce his flesh
what he would experience
covered by his own blood, his sweat
the spittle of the Romans
This same Jesus
bowing before Judas
washing his feet of dust
setting them an example
showing God’s great love
