For it is by grace you have been saved

By God’s hand, his sacrifice
by the choice of God alone
reaching down, from above
mercy to save our lives
by grace we are saved, alone
all our lives an indictment
marks written in the ledger
nothing we could have done
to avoid the judgment, trial
Only Christ’s sacrifice
God’s decision to step in
only by grace we are made whole
saved from our sinful nature
