Stories to draw us in
words they might comprehend
something of the kingdom
in the words he gave them
The stories of Jesus
to share, to show God’s love
teaching this stubborn people
that they may truly live
Parables to prime the pump
to soften the hearts of stone
making the clay pliable again
for the Potter’s hand
Chipping away at the scales
so they might have eyes to see
baby food of the Word
until they come to believe.
