A metaphor, but so true
God lifting us
from the raging waters
the storms of our lives
the utter chaos
the waves crashing
on the shoals of our lives
the slack water,
rip-tide currents
darkness seeking
to pull us down
drowning, frightened
no feet on the ground
our lifeguard, our Savior
diving right in
into the darkness, the world’s chaos
lifting us up through the waters
that we may live
