Denied by the leaders,
the priests in the line of Aaron
those who were to shepherd the flock
leading to oblivion
The words of John at the Jordan
of Christ at the beginning
the kingdom come near
God here with us
the echo of these words before Caesar
their words of indictment
“we have no king but Caesar;
now Crucify the Christ!”
