Standing on the roadside
the ancient city, Jerusalem
excitement building
Christ coming into view
waving my palm branches
joining Christ’s procession
into David’s city
my cloak at his feet
shouts of Hosanna
joy to see my Savior, my king
thoughts of the yoke of repression
soon to be set free
