the angry vines knit
the bitterness of ego
the abuse of their power
The princes of this earth
caught in carnal thoughts
anger at the thought of Christ
leading their people off
The tangle of the thorns
mocking the Son of God
the crown upon his head
feeble against his power
The healing of the cross
to cast out our demons
to stitch the breach shut
restoring us unto God
The tangle of the thorns
causing Christ to bleed
yet powerful to stop his gift
through him we are healed
