Knowing the rest of the prayer

Starting in anguish
in words of abandonment
feeling separated from God
wondering where he is
But Christ not despairing
not truly feeling forsaken
for his act was one of faith
a turning to God
Knowing the rest of the words
of the ancient prayer, the psalm,
murmuring the words
even as he hung dying
The words unfolding
in the way of his death
yet an act of a faith
a turning unto God.
