Are we happier

are we in a better place
are we happier than our neighbors
than our forebears in our past
with our greater wealth, possessions
the material things of this age
separating us from God
from the Spirit’s calling
the guiding of God’s love
to serve our sisters and brothers
the people of this earth
our holy purpose, worthy
not to accumulate more wealth
